Teething Tablets...

Okay, so I used teething tablets with all 3 of the older kids, but then I heard the belladonna in them isn't safe and can cause death in infants. The reviews online are mixed, but obviously I don't want to hurt my baby. Any suggestions...? He is miserable and the Orajel doesn't seem to have any effect. Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard of the "bellan...." thing. But anything that increases the chances of something bad makes me think twice about it. I used the tablets with Katie & John, and wasn't too impressed, didn't seem like they helped much. My SIL LOVED them though. Orajel, tylenol, cold wet rags is what we usually used. If they are the thing that brings relief..use 'em. Your other 3 are fine..

P.S. Like the new title/look!

The teething tablets did absolutely NOTHING for Madi (I never tried them with Megan). Orajel did squat, too. We resorted to Tylenol, cold/frozen teething rings and lots of patience and crankies.

Weird! I haven't heard that! All 4 of my kids have used Teething Tablets!

Teething tablets never worked for my kids and I was wary of the belladona (sp) too. I use Camilia and it works awesome! My husband even used it for a tooth ache in a pinch and he got some relief from it too. You can find it at Whole Foods or a health food store. Good luck!

I just noticed that Hyland's teething tablets were added to our otc section this week. The teething tablets are safe. It's homeopathic & they essentially have no measureable ingredients. My favorite pharmacist says she'd try them (if she had children). :) Hope that helps.

I've used hylands teething tablets for both girls, only once for Hailey so far and they work great. I never heard of that either but must be something new going around. I definately don't give them often and will check more into it before I do again.

Teething tablets didn't work for Logan, either, but I will now not even try them for Natalia! The doc also told me to never use Orajel on an infant younger than 6 months as it can cause seizure-like symptoms...happened with her own daughter and a few of her patients so she doesn't recommend Orajel at all. Kinda scary, eh? I guess it will be Tylenol(when she reaches 12 weeks +) and cold teething rings here!;0)
